Me and the two stars of the bathtub scene!
I am a mom with three beautiful children. I love how cute and cuddly my babies look as they sleep so very soundly but when they wake up the next day I can not help but wonder if the BODY SNATCHERS have paid a visit to my home sometime during the night!
I am pretty convinced they visit my home on a regular basis.
I do my best to balance everything in our life and at times it is so trying since my husband works, almost exclusively, overseas.
I envy my pet fish Chai-Chai (she is a beautiful Oscar) and wish I was her with my only decision having to be which side of the tank to swim too.
I am educated (but my parents would say that could be debated) and I am still working toward an elusive masters and possibly a PhD in Chinese History. Some may think I am too old to still be going to school but I would argue that on the fact that there was some older man, who had only done business related work for twenty something years and just decided to become a doctor….AND DID! He actively works as an ER Doc.
So, I have hope!
I was an I-5 sailor and proud. I served in the US Navy for eight years and would not trade that experience for anything. The stories alone are worth their weight in gold and I got some good ones. I loved working with the Marines and valued the title DOC since not every corpsman, at least it’s what they told me, gets called DOC. I was their little sister and they were all my brothers. I miss them a ton.

Definitely LOVIN' IT!
I currently live in Beirut, Lebanon and really love it. For a while there seemed to be a big misconception as to where I lived since someone actually thought I lived in a tent! Beirut reminds me of my birthplace, San Diego, yet the weather is very different. There are no Padres and Chargers game to be had here, except via the television (and we get those the day after), so I have been gameless (at least live games at the stadium) since 1996! How depressing. Beirut is a hot spot for tourism and living here provides one with many conveinances, one of which has my friends jealous. We get delivery for just about anything and everything, Mc Donalds included!

My SUPER TALENTED husband and his offspring
I love my husband tremendously and think he is the best thing since the invention of the “Milky Way Dark”. When I was pregnant with the little guy on his lap, I had him going all hours of the day and night to retrieve such a candy bar for my craving pleasures! (I wonder if that is why that little piece of squishiness is so hyper now?)
My husband loves me and we balance each other out and where I lack in patience and discipline, he picks up the slack which actually makes everything mesh. We do have our moments of disagreements and whatever else and I don’t mind since that is what helps us to grow. I would beg to differ with anyone who has that picture perfect relationship since I would be inclined to think such a thing would be a lie and utterly BORING! (The kiss and make up time alone is worth the fight I think!) He is my best friend.

Me and my baby!
My daughter is becoming my best friend and I think we have finally made it through the “mom-daughter wars”. I do forsee troubled waters in the future but those will be of a different type and will never change my love for her. I admire how funny and open my daughter is and it’s no surprise that she has many friends.
It is a lot to swallow watching her come into her own and I know it’s all a part of the growing up thing but it still does not make it hurt any less. I used to change her diaper for crying out loud and now she wants to go to the cafe and shopping!
She really has blossomed into a beautiful young lady and her over protective father stands at the ready to gouge the eyes of suspecting “male” onlookers. He is too funny.
BUT….(because she is a teen coming into her own), there is a darkside to this type of teen and for all those parents out there with teen year olds, there will be days that the BODY SNATCHERS have visited your home too.
So there you have it, a very brief introduction about me and my family. I welcome you to my little spot on the web and encourage you to read past posts and even new ones.
